When we were contacted about the event for #DCWorldRecord, we originally started discussing photo booths to capture. They wanted to create a buzz around the world record attempt – the event that would see thousands of people dressed as their favourite super heroes from the legendary DC Comics.
It soon became clear to Rebecca, our Account Executive, that while photo booths are great for events, our hashtag print stations would be an even better solution for this activation. At each of the four UK locations, our hashtag stations tracked and pooled through all the photos from Twitter & Instagram that had the #DCWorldRecord hashtag. Guests could use our stations to print off their personal photos they had taken from their own device! Not only that, the print-outs were branded so each guest had a souvenir from the event. (Fantastic exposure for DC!)
With over a thousand photos posted on Instagram from the event, it created a real excitement and buzz surrounding this momentous world record attempt. Lots of people turned up to each location and had a brilliant time. Not only that, we also created a social media footprint for the brand.
The event was such a success that the agency we worked with are looking at hiring our hashtag stations for another long-running event that is coming up in the next few months!
